ORLANDO, Fla. – Hilton Hotels has announced that the Waldorf Astoria® Orlando will open October 1, 2009, 78 years to the day her namesake Park Avenue original opened. Surrounded on three sides by Walt Disney World® Resort, the hotel is part of the Bonnet Creek development, which also includes Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, scheduled to open the same day.
The 497-room Waldorf Astoria Orlando, the first Waldorf Astoria built outside of New York City, will emulate the elegance and grandeur of the legendary landmark. The property will boast Waldorf firsts including the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club featuring a Rees Jones-designed golf course, and a formal signature pool, encircled by chic private cabanas featuring personalized poolside service.
